นิยามของความดีและความชั่ว
- ในระดับปัจเจกบุคคล แต่ละคนเป็นผู้เลือกเองว่าสิ่งใดคือความดีและสิ่งใดคือความชั่ว
- ในระดับสังคม คำจำกัดความของความดีและความชั่วควรถูกกำหนดโดยเสียงข้างมาก
- กฎเกณฑ์ทางสังคมควรถูกกำหนดตามศีลธรรมของคนส่วนใหญ่ โดยยึดตามนิยามที่คนส่วนใหญ่นั้นเห็นพ้องกัน
ในระดับพื้นฐาน คนส่วนใหญ่มักเห็นพ้องกับหลักการบางประการของ กฏแห่งธรรมชาติ เช่น การยึดมั่นในความจริง และสิทธิของทุกคนต่อชีวิต ทรัพย์สิน และการป้องกันตนเอง ดังนั้น ผู้ที่ประพฤติตามหลักการเหล่านี้อาจถือได้ว่าเป็นฝ่ายดี ในขณะที่ผู้ที่ไม่ปฏิบัติตามอาจถูกมองว่าเป็นฝ่ายชั่ว
The power of evil
In a competitive environment, such as obtaining positions of power, evil people will have a distinct advantage over a good as they have at their disposal many more tools to succeed, they will do what good people are not willing to win.
Evil people also have more incentive to have power over other people, because in everyday society evil acts are punished, but once you have power there are pathways to hurt others without consequence.
A governing system that creates positions of power will over time result in the evil ruling over the good morality of the majority.
