เพื่อให้เกิดการปกครองตนเอง จำเป็นต้องมีระบบการลงคะแนนเสียง ในระยะเริ่มต้นที่ชุมชนยังมีสมาชิกเพียงไม่กี่คน การประชุมและการนับคะแนนสามารถดำเนินการด้วยตนเองได้ แต่เมื่อชุมชนเติบโตขึ้นและขยายไปสู่ระดับสังคม ควรนำเทคโนโลยีมาใช้เพื่อให้ระบบการลงคะแนนเสียงมีความน่าเชื่อถือ โปร่งใส และได้รับความไว้วางใจจากสมาชิกทุกคน
Range choice voting
Each community can choose it's method of voting with integrity, access, efficiency being strong considerations.
Range choice voting is an effective voting system when choosing from multiple options, individuals can rank multiple choices, if their first choice gets the lowest number of votes their vote passes to their second choice and so on.
Delegation
Especially as the community increases in size, delegation should be considered, where an individual can delegate their vote to another person.
Delegation can be passed to any other person and can be removed at any time.
A more complex system can be implement where decisions are categorized and individuals can delegate different types of decisions to different people.
