ภาพรวมของชุมชน

เพื่อให้สมาชิกในชุมชนสามารถตัดสินใจได้อย่างรอบคอบมีวิจารณญาณ และแก้ไขปัญหาที่เกิดขึ้นได้อย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ ควรมีการเปิดเผยข้อมูลและการเข้าถึงข้อมูลเกี่ยวกับกิจกรรมต่าง ๆ ของชุมชนในระดับสูง

เพื่อให้การปกครองตนเองและการแสวงหาความจริงเป็นไปอย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ ความโปร่งใสจึงถือเป็นหนึ่งในข้อสำคัญที่สุด โดยแต่ละชุมชนสามารถกำหนดระดับความโปร่งใสที่เห็นควรเหมาะสมได้เอง เช่น การบันทึกพฤติกรรมของสมาชิกทุกคน ไม่ว่าจะเป็นการสนทนา หรือการติดต่อกับบุคคลภายนอกชุมชน อาจถูกนำมาใช้เพื่อการตรวจสอบโดยส่วนรวมของชุมชน
